Art and Soul - August Challenge Inspiration

Happy August.. 

I had to admit Amanda had me on my toes with this one... I put my Big Girl pants on and embraced my 'pink'... Hope you get some inspiration from it. 

Mood Board Challenge Rules

Please use our mood board as inspiration to create an art journal page, a card or a scrapbooking layout. Use the mood board however you want but you must add your own handwriting on your project.

As these challenges are sponsored by Art and Soul Studio please make sure that you use at least one product that is available from the store.

There are 3 x $50 vouchers up for grabs!! One will be awarded for scrapbooking layouts, one for cards and one for mixed media/art journaling.

You can enter an art journal page, a card and a layout but you cannot win all three.

You have until the 11:59pm on the 31 August to enter and then the design team will vote to determine the lucky winners.

Please note that the vouchers can only be won by residents of Australia but if you are from overseas and win the challenge you will be offered a guest design team spot.

Scrap the Boys Challenge Blog

Well... This one was just awesome fun! Scrap the  boys are at it again... Its Challenge time! 

Love the Geometric theme, love the colours and the whole rustic effect. Again I used some of Seth Apters Dies. He is a master of all things masculine. 

I got some Lindy's sprays in Cattail Copper Brown and Crows Nest Copper Moonshadow to create the rusty shades for the Seth Apter Dies - Robo bars. I used Tibetan Poppy Teal to add the patina to the rust and used a Clear Gesso'd sheet of plain white card as a base.

I had a Kaiser Craft Die for the reo bars and the chip board was from WOW I had in my stash for AGES...

Scrap the Boys Cards - July 2018

Hello!! Today I have some thing I pulled together for Scrap the boys - Card challenge for July.  

I used the sketch provided by Creative Scrappers and Scrap the Boys wanted to explore the theme of "Celebration"

I decided to make a card dedicated to the Dad in our family for his Birthday... I hope my husband enjoys his card and even more importantly... His Birthday! Love you Babe..

Hi Soul Sisters, 

My turn to inspire you for this months challenge. I wanted to go with a more romantic take on the Mood Board.  

Before I landed in Wonderland I had to fall... In love!

I used the Alice in Candyland range from 13@rts as my base. I added stencils from Prima and Lindys sprays to highlight the texture. I used some Distress Crayons in Seedless Preserves and Black Soot to highlight the edges of the modelling paste.

I fussy cut the circles to mount my photo and started with just a few... Well, I used all of them..  

I chose some embossing powders from Lindys and selected my embellishments. From Prima, Resin hearts, Lavender collection die cuts (My Playing card was in there) and chipboard from 2Crafty, WOW and Dusty Attic.

Scrap The Boys Cards - May 2018

Welcome to our new post at STB - Cards...

This month we are giving the 12 x 12 scrappers a run for their money by sharing their Mood Board. Here is my take on the challenge... Join in with us and show us what you can do... at Scrap the Boys - Card Makers

Check out how intensely the Mermaid Brush Markers by Jane Davenport reacted to my card. I held them at the top and squeezed a couple of drops at a time and let it run down the page. I used an eye dropper to help with the flow. I love the way the colours sat on top of each
other and pooled... My new
favourite technique!!












I used some Nuvo Embellishment mousse to create some texture on the page and to give the saturated brights a little sparkle to offset... Winner!!

Welcome to the second round of Scrap the boys - Cards!!

This time we have a sketch and a colour challenge.. 

Black and White + 1 Colour... Hmm!

Sounds easy,  right? Well... what a challenge for this mixed media girl! I like colours and layers and contrasts and compliments all in the mix... So I really did move out of my comfort zone with this one and am thankful for the push.
