Kapow - Dusty Attic Moodboard Inspiration January 2020

This is my intro into 2020. I'm hoping for a cracker. I have loved these chippies and wanted to do something like this for a while now. A real celebration of t'weens. My guys n I are Marvel freaks so this one is for all of you... Hope you have fun playing with the Moodboard & Happy New Year!

I took an 8 x 8 canvas panel and  applied some modelling past through a stencil. While it was still wet I added some punched out bricks from A Dusty Attic brick wall chipboard and broken Bits no. 6. the modelling paste will act as a glue as well as a background texture. I painted all the chipboard and the panel with white Gesso then I used my Lindy's sprays to add colour.

To achieve that amazing cloud of colour in the background I used some translucent paints from Paper Artsy. With a makeup sponge, I dabbed in layers to create the blends of brights and then topped it off with some light shading in blue. The darker colour also works as a border.

I used some tribal arrows to help physically balance my comic clouds. I did cut these  in the middle to make the most of them. that way I could could stretch out the length or create the illusion of more.

Using some Lindy's embossing powder I covered my words. I deliberately left it bumpy so I could add layers with Black shading (inkpad and blending tool) & splatters.

Finishing it off with a this amazing title cut by Dusty attic for an Antonis Tzandinakis project.
I think it looks much better here ... Don't you?

I used a little bit of Gold Wax to highlight some of the background.

A better look at the colours and the texture for you...

Family Matters - Dusty Attic Sketch Wk #1 2020

Hey Everyone,

I decided to have a go at the sketch challenge, here's week One! I really had fun doing this one. Its great to get back to Scrapping for the multi pic layouts.

These were some moments from our trip to Nambucca Heads and a day at at the v-wall

I used my fav technique to colour chipboard for this one. Uneven Gesso and
Lindy's sprays.

I kept the colours simple and used a chalk based paint to colour them.

All the shells are found by me on the beach.

Close ups of page 1 & 2!

and some more close ups...

Dusty Attic December Moodboard Inspiration - 'Shrooms

Hi everyone, This is the last mood board challenge for 2019...
Here is some inspiration for you.

I used the mood board colours and the idea of a garden from the leaves to create this journal page with some of Dyan Reavelys stamps. I also got some inspiration from my new craft buddy... Meet Dio! I created this page the day we brought him home. He is 8 weeks to the day.

I used my Paper Artsy paints to create layers in my background and stenciled in some contrast, stamped in some textures and got busy decorating my chipboard.

I used a base coat on my chipboard with the chalk paints - no need to prime with gesso with these. Funnily enough they have a colour called Mushroom! I added layers of Purple in two shades with a makeup sponge. They give an awesome grungy, earthy effect. Perfection is overrated!

On this one used some blue close to the ground for shading. With the left over 'Teresa Green' paint I added some splatters.

Now to play with my bits and pieces...
I stamped some mushrooms and flowers & painted them with a pre-filled water brush. I used the colours from the background to mark up the stamps, keeping the colour scheme consistent.

I also got to play with these super cute cheeky bugs on my collage. They layered perfectly with my toadstools and mushrooms.

I added some shading with a charcoal pencil to the bugs and again to the areas around the stamped images and it was done.
I love texture & I really enjoy the depth it gives my journaling.
